Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu Issues Strict Directives on Social Security Pensions
In a decisive move to protect vulnerable citizens, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has issued clear instructions to concerned officials, mandating that no eligible individual should be deprived of social security pension benefits under any circumstances. The chief minister chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the social justice and empowerment department on Wednesday, where he emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the rights of all deserving beneficiaries.
Ensuring Continuity and Prompt Action
Sukhu explicitly directed that pensions must not be discontinued for any rightful beneficiary, and all pending formalities should be completed promptly to avoid delays. He highlighted that the administration has already completed e-KYC verification for an impressive 7,60,772 beneficiaries, but stressed that full coverage must be achieved without exception. This push for inclusivity aims to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and ensure seamless support for those in need.
Review of Key Welfare Initiatives
During the meeting, the chief minister reviewed the progress of the 'Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Yojna', a flagship scheme designed to provide care and support. Currently, 4,131 children are benefiting from this initiative, with a substantial allocation of Rs 30.69 crore dedicated to its implementation. Sukhu instructed authorities to organize regular exposure and recreational visits for these children, and he sought detailed reports from districts that have yet to conduct such enriching tours, underscoring the importance of holistic development.
Educational and Financial Support Under Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojna
Furthermore, the review covered the Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojna, which is providing crucial financial and educational support to 21,588 beneficiaries. This scheme is backed by an allocation of Rs 31.01 crore, demonstrating the government's robust investment in welfare programs. Sukhu assured that adequate funding will be maintained for all such schemes in the future, reinforcing the state's dedication to social justice and empowerment.
The chief minister's directives reflect a proactive approach to governance, focusing on efficiency and compassion in delivering social security measures. By prioritizing timely completions and comprehensive coverage, Himachal Pradesh aims to set a benchmark in welfare administration, ensuring that every eligible citizen receives the support they are entitled to without unnecessary obstacles.
