As part of the Phase IV expansion, Aerocity station is being meticulously transformed to integrate with the Tughlaqabad-Aerocity Golden Line. This integration is set to dramatically improve east-south connectivity, bringing extensive areas of south Delhi closer to the Indira Gandhi International Airport than ever before. The significance of Aerocity station has been further amplified with the recent approval for extending the Golden Line from Aerocity to the Terminal 1 IGI Airport station, covering a distance of 2.3 kilometers. Once operational, this extension will enable commuters from neighborhoods such as Tughlaqabad, Ambedkar Nagar, and Khanpur to reach Terminal 1 directly via the metro, eliminating the need for multiple interchanges or reliance on road travel. Designed as a high-capacity interchange, the Aerocity station will feature both platform-to-platform connectivity on one side and concourse-to-concourse paid-area access between the Airport Express Line and the Silver Line. The underground platforms will be situated at a depth of approximately 22 meters, while the Golden Line station itself will extend to nearly 290 meters—significantly longer than a typical interchange station—to efficiently manage the anticipated passenger load.

Structural provisions are being incorporated into the station to accommodate a proposed National Capital Region Transport Corporation corridor to Alwar.
