The Karnataka Lokayukta conducted simultaneous raids at 12 locations in Davanagere district on Tuesday, targeting properties linked to government officials and others suspected of amassing wealth through corrupt means.
The raids, which began early in the morning, covered residential and official premises across the district. A team of Lokayukta officials, accompanied by police personnel, carried out the searches based on specific inputs regarding disproportionate assets.
Five Locations Linked to Sannakenchappa
Among the raided sites, five were directly connected to Sannakenchappa, a key figure in the ongoing investigation. His residence in Davanagere town was thoroughly searched, along with his farmhouse and two commercial properties. Officials seized documents, digital records, and valuables during the operation.
Details of the Operation
The Lokayukta team, led by a deputy superintendent of police, executed search warrants issued by the Lokayukta court. The raids are part of a larger probe into allegations of corruption and illegal accumulation of assets by public servants and their associates.
Sources confirmed that the searches were conducted without any resistance. The entire operation was videographed to ensure transparency. The seized materials will be analyzed to determine the extent of the alleged offenses.
This is not the first such action in Davanagere. In recent months, the Lokayukta has intensified its crackdown on corrupt practices in the region. Further investigations are underway, and more raids cannot be ruled out.
