According to the directive released on Thursday, the department will now process and grant permissions for road-cutting activities required to lay PNG pipelines within a strict 24-hour timeframe, provided that applications submitted by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) are complete and in order. This fast-tracking of approvals is designed to eliminate bureaucratic delays and expedite the installation of essential gas connections for consumers throughout Delhi.
The road restoration charge, typically imposed by road-owning agencies on service providers to cover the costs of repairing roads or footpaths after excavation work, has been waived entirely. This waiver is expected to substantially reduce project expenses for IGL, thereby facilitating quicker and more efficient pipeline deployment across the city's extensive road network.

The official order explicitly states, "In view of the prevailing circumstances and in public interest, the PWD hereby issues directions to facilitate IGL in providing PNG connections to consumers in an expeditious manner within its jurisdiction."
