Delhi to Establish Advanced Emergency Operations Centre and Flood Mitigation Plan
The Delhi State Disaster Management Authority (DSDMA) has taken a significant step towards bolstering the national capital's disaster preparedness by approving the establishment of a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and an Integrated Command and Control Centre. This decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, aimed at enhancing the city's response system for various emergencies.
Key Decisions from the DSDMA Meeting
During the meeting, the authority gave in-principle approval to the Delhi Urban Flood Mitigation Plan, which comes with a proposed budget outlay of Rs 21,000 crore. This comprehensive plan is designed to address the persistent issue of urban flooding during monsoons by focusing on multiple critical areas.
