Dharavi Redevelopment Project to Hold Single-Window Verification Camps for Undecided Cases
Dharavi Redevelopment: Single-Window Verification Camps for Undecided Cases

The Dharavi Redevelopment Project/Slum Rehabilitation Authority (DRP/SRA) is set to conduct a single-window verification drive for 'undecided' cases in Dharavi. Undecided cases are those where housing eligibility has not been established due to insufficient documentation.

The verification camps will be held from May 14 to May 26, covering residents from all five sectors of Dharavi, including railway land. DRP officials will assist residents with document scrutiny, verification, and submission-related queries to expedite the resolution of pending or undecided cases. The DRP/SRA has also reached out to local corporators from all political parties to support the initiative.

According to DRP officials, one lakh units in Dharavi have been surveyed, and draft annexure II has been issued for approximately 50% of these units. However, many unit holders whose names appear in the draft annexure II have not yet submitted all required documents. The camp is specifically designed for these individuals. Additionally, there are 24,000 unit holders who have not submitted any documents at all. These individuals are also encouraged to submit their documents for verification during the camp.

A senior official stated, 'There are unit holders whose names appear in the draft annexure II, but they have not submitted all documents. This camp is being conducted for such unit holders. There are another 24,000 unit holders who have not submitted documents. These unit holders too can submit their documents for verification.'

This initiative aims to streamline the redevelopment process and ensure that eligible residents receive their rightful housing benefits without further delay.
