Hubballi: The Dharwad district administration organized a Jana Samparka Sabhe at Sawai Gandharvara Smarak Bhavan in Kundgol on Tuesday. Labour and Dharwad district minister Santosh S Lad attended the program and listened to public grievances. A total of 151 grievances were submitted.
Grievances by Department
The highest number of grievances, 48, were registered in the revenue department. This was followed by the rural development and panchayat raj department with 33, urban development with 12, school education and literacy with 10, and the energy department with six cases.
Issues Raised
During the mass-contact program, people from various villages directly conveyed their problems, demands, and suggestions to the minister. They raised issues such as shortage of drinking water, road repair, drainage system, power outages, lack of health services, and school facilities.
Minister's Response
Minister Lad instructed the concerned officials to resolve their problems immediately. He also assured that financial assistance would be provided by the Santosh Lad Foundation. Additionally, a free health checkup camp was conducted by the health department.
MLAs MR Patil, deputy commissioner Snehal R, superintendent of police Gujan Arya, HDMC commissioner Rudresh Ghali, and other officials were present.

Speaking to reporters later, Lad said water was being supplied through private borewells to 19 villages facing a shortage of drinking water. The minister also said instructions were sent to the authorities concerned to speed up work on the Hubballi flyover, which is now scheduled to be completed by the end of next month.
A proposal of around Rs 6,500 crore was received to implement the Hubballi-Dharwad LRT transport system.
Disruption During Event
The event was briefly disrupted when a farmer shouted about his problems, drawing attention and causing confusion for a short time. During the meeting, Lad took officials to task on the stage over their negligence.
