New Delhi: Commuters traveling through East Delhi are likely to face traffic congestion over the next few weeks as desilting work in the canal drain stretch between LM Bundh, Shastri Nagar and Karkari Mor/Khureji Red Light gets underway.
Traffic Advisory Issued
According to a traffic advisory issued by the authorities, one carriageway on the Geeta Colony side will remain closed until June 30 to facilitate the work being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD). The closure is expected to significantly impact the flow of vehicles in the area.
Affected Stretch
The affected stretch is a key arterial link that witnesses heavy movement of office-goers, school buses, commercial vehicles, and local traffic throughout the day. With the carriageway closure, commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
Traffic Management
Traffic will be regulated through the available carriageway, while temporary diversion arrangements will remain in place. Authorities have urged commuters to cooperate and follow the diversion signs to avoid delays.
For real-time updates, commuters can check local traffic alerts and plan alternative routes. The desilting work is essential to prevent waterlogging and ensure smooth drainage during the monsoon season.
