Gurgaon Officials to Personally Guide Parents for RTE School Admissions
Gurgaon Officials to Guide Parents for RTE Admissions

In a move to streamline the admission process under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, the Gurgaon education department has been directed to personally contact parents of eligible children and guide them through the necessary procedures. Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh issued these instructions on Thursday, emphasizing the need for transparent and smooth admissions for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students in private schools.

Addressing Parent Concerns

The directive comes in response to growing concerns from parents about delays and instances where schools have refused to admit students under the RTE quota. With the admission deadline set for May 9, the deputy commissioner has instructed officials to assist parents of all eligible children by clearly communicating the list of required documents and the complete admission process.

Deployment of Departmental Staff

To ensure seamless coordination, one departmental employee will be stationed at every private school to assist parents and liaise with school management. These staff members will help with document verification, facilitate communication, and ensure the admission process proceeds without any hurdles. “Parents must not face last-minute confusion,” Singh stated.

Document Verification Receipts

To avoid future disputes, schools have been mandated to issue document verification receipts to parents. Singh emphasized that admissions for the 2026-27 academic session must be completed sincerely, transparently, and within the prescribed timeline so that no eligible child is left waiting due to avoidable delays.

Strict Action Against Violations

Singh also warned that schools refusing RTE admissions without valid reasons will face strict action under relevant rules. The RTE Act mandates that 25% of seats in private schools be reserved for children from economically weaker sections.

This initiative aims to ensure that every eligible child benefits from the RTE provisions without facing bureaucratic hurdles or school-level resistance.
