Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Wednesday flagged off 312 emergency response vehicles in Gurugram, marking a significant step towards bolstering the state's emergency infrastructure. The fleet includes advanced ambulances, fire tenders, and rescue vehicles equipped with modern medical and safety equipment.
Enhancing Emergency Response Capabilities
The newly launched vehicles are part of the Haryana government's initiative to strengthen the emergency response system. These vehicles will be deployed across various districts to ensure timely assistance during medical emergencies, accidents, and natural disasters. The fleet is equipped with GPS tracking and real-time communication systems to coordinate with control rooms efficiently.
Key Features of the Fleet
- Advanced Life Support Ambulances: Equipped with ventilators, defibrillators, and other critical care equipment.
- Fire Tenders: Modern firefighting vehicles with foam and water cannons for industrial and urban fires.
- Rescue Vehicles: Specialized units for road accidents, building collapses, and flood relief operations.
- Communication Systems: Integrated with the state's emergency response center for seamless coordination.
Chief Minister Saini emphasized that the initiative aligns with the state's commitment to public safety. He stated, "These vehicles will save precious lives by reducing response times and providing high-quality emergency care." The government has also trained over 1,000 personnel to operate these vehicles and handle emergency situations effectively.
Investment in Public Safety
The project, costing approximately INR 150 crore, is funded under the State Disaster Response Fund and the National Health Mission. The vehicles will be stationed at strategic locations, including highways, industrial areas, and rural regions, to ensure wide coverage. Officials said that the fleet would be monitored through a centralized dashboard to optimize deployment during crises.
Community Impact
Residents of Gurugram and surrounding areas have welcomed the initiative, citing frequent delays in emergency services. Local leaders urged the government to maintain the vehicles regularly and expand the fleet in the future. The Haryana government plans to add 200 more vehicles in the next phase.
With this launch, Haryana aims to set a benchmark for emergency response in the region, ensuring that citizens receive prompt and effective help when needed most.
