Police personnel at the Haryana Police Academy (HPA) in Madhuban conducted a plantation drive on Monday, planting approximately 250 saplings of various species across the campus. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Kala Ramachandran, Director of HPA, and Baljinder Singh, Superintendent of Police at HPA.
Expanding Green Cover During Monsoon
Line Manager Inspector Parveen Kumar stated that the academy already serves as a rich green zone and a vital source of clean air. To preserve and further strengthen this green cover, thousands of additional fruit-bearing saplings will be planted across the campus during the monsoon season. Kumar emphasized that if every citizen plants at least one tree each year and takes responsibility for its care, it would make a meaningful contribution to environmental conservation.
Call to Action for Citizens
Reserve Inspector Naresh Kumar urged citizens to plant more trees to protect the environment and ensure a clean, safe, and healthy future for coming generations. He highlighted that rising pollution, global warming, and climate change are among the most serious challenges facing humanity today. Their adverse impact on public health and natural resources continues to grow, making tree plantation one of the simplest and most effective ways to address these challenges.
Trees as Foundation of Life
Chief Drill Instructor Inspector Naresh Kumar noted that trees and plants not only fulfill essential human needs but also form the very foundation of life. They help regulate temperature, maintain the natural rainfall cycle, and provide vital habitats for birds, wildlife, and other living species. The plantation drive at HPA Madhuban underscores the academy's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
