Haryana's Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao on Tuesday announced that the Government Medical College under construction in Charkhi Dadri district will be named after freedom fighter Rao Tula Ram. She expressed gratitude to the Central government and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for the decision, highlighting persistent efforts by Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh.

Inspiration for Youth

The Health Minister emphasized that such initiatives will help the younger generation understand the sacrifices of freedom fighters. She stated that the medical college will set new benchmarks in medicine and inspire youth to serve the nation.

PPP Model for Hospital Management

Speaking at her official residence in Chandigarh, Rao announced that sanitation and security in government hospitals will be managed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The main objective is to enhance safety for female patients, nurses, doctors, and staff. She took a firm stance against crimes against women, declaring that perpetrators will not be spared.

Referring to a recent sexual harassment case involving a minor girl at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra, she noted that the police have registered a case and the government terminated the accused consultant's services.

Healthcare Infrastructure Boost

Rao reiterated the government's commitment to providing excellent healthcare, with priority on ensuring gynecologists, anesthesiologists, and pediatricians in all districts. She announced development works worth approximately Rs 104.16 crore to strengthen medical infrastructure. Under the 15th Finance Commission, 766 new healthcare institutions have been approved, including 597 Sub-Health Centers, 51 Primary Health Centers, 7 Community Health Centers, and 111 Block Public Health Centers, to bolster rural and town healthcare networks.

Modern Amenities and Affordable Medicines

The Health Minister highlighted the introduction of Tele-ECG services in 600 healthcare institutions for cardiac patients. Additionally, 'Amrit Pharmacies' have been established in 23 district hospitals to provide affordable, high-quality medicines.
