Bhubaneswar: Usha Padhee, additional chief secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department and chairperson of IDCO, conducted a field visit to the Kalinga Nagar industrial region in Jajpur district on Wednesday. The visit focused on reviewing land development, strategic infrastructure initiatives, and the progress of key urban development projects in the area.
Land Inspection and Industrial Expansion
Padhee inspected approximately 600 acres of land at Alijanga and assessed the readiness of the Sukutijhara area for future industrial expansion. She also visited Tata Steel's plot, where she held discussions with company representatives and officials regarding infrastructure preparedness and industrial growth requirements.
Urban Development and Flagship Schemes
Beyond industrial development, Padhee evaluated the implementation of ongoing urban development projects and flagship schemes in the district. Officials stated that the review aimed to improve urban infrastructure, strengthen service delivery, and enhance the quality of life in emerging industrial townships around Kalinga Nagar.
High-Level Meeting on National Industrial Corridor
During the visit, Padhee chaired a high-level meeting at the Kalinga Nagar Development Authority conference hall to review the progress of the Kalinga Nagar National Industrial Corridor. Discussions were held with officials from IDCO and the District Investment Promotion Agency on land allocation, infrastructure provisioning, and the integration of industrial growth with urban services.
The visit underscores the government's commitment to fostering industrial development while ensuring sustainable urban growth in the region.
