A comprehensive training programme for 713 officials heading police stations and outposts across various wings of the police administration in Jharkhand has been initiated. The programme aims to enhance their operational capabilities and improve their behaviour with the public.
Inauguration Ceremony
Director General of Police (DGP) Tadasha Mishra officially inaugurated the programme at the Investigation Training School located in Hotwar, Ranchi, on Tuesday. The event marked the beginning of a series of training sessions designed to upgrade the skills of police personnel.
Training Curriculum
According to a statement issued by the police headquarters, the training covers a wide range of subjects. These include police behaviour with citizens, standard operating procedures for media briefings, mandatory provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) concerning women and child victims, provisions related to search and seizures, and the role of forensic science laboratory teams as per BNSS. Additionally, prosecution issues and the crime and criminal tracking network system (CCTNS) will also be addressed.
Objectives
The primary goal of the training is to educate police personnel on new legal provisions and ensure transparent, quick, and fair action at the police station level. The statement emphasized that the programme would help in building trust between the police and the community.
Schedule and Participants
Sources revealed that police personnel will be trained on nine different dates during the current month, with each batch comprising approximately 80 officials. The training will be conducted by Jharkhand police officers and experts from the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, ensuring a blend of practical experience and academic insight.
