The transport department of Kolkata has issued a significant notification granting permission for two new auto-rickshaw routes in the city. Importantly, the transport department has specified that no auto on this route will be allowed to use DH Road, a measure intended to prevent congestion and ensure efficient traffic flow.
The second route has been sanctioned from Rajabazar Tram Depot to Topsia, with permission for 50 autos. This route will cover Canal West Road, Beleghata Main Road, Pottery Road, Gobra Road, and Lal Baba Mazar, extending up to the 24 Number Bus Stand. Sources indicate that the traffic police has provided the necessary No Objection Certificate (NoC) for both routes, ensuring compliance with local traffic regulations and safety standards.
