Lucknow Municipal Corporation Unveils Major Infrastructure Push in Zone 1

In a significant boost to urban infrastructure and digital governance, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) on Thursday inaugurated a massive slate of 456 projects with a total value of Rs 29.62 crore. This initiative targets Zone 1, encompassing key areas such as Hazratganj, Lalbagh, Aminabad, Kaiserbagh, and their adjoining neighborhoods.

Comprehensive Development Projects Launched

The projects were officially unveiled during a ceremony held at Jhandi Wala Park. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal inaugurated the works and dedicated them to the residents, emphasizing their role in enhancing the city's livability. According to officials, the scope of these projects is broad and multifaceted, designed to address critical urban challenges.

The infrastructure works include:

Mayor Kharkwal highlighted that these initiatives aim to strengthen the city's infrastructure while carefully preserving its rich heritage. She urged citizens to actively participate in maintaining public assets and upholding cleanliness standards to ensure the long-term sustainability of these improvements.

Digital Portal for Community Facility Bookings

In a parallel move to streamline civic services, the LMC also launched an innovative online booking portal for Kalyan Mandaps and community centres. This digital platform allows residents to check availability and book these facilities from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for physical visits and promoting greater transparency in the booking process.

The civic body has formalized booking charges for community centres across various localities, including:

  2. Jiyamau
  3. Vikas Nagar
  4. Mansarovar
  5. Anand Nagar
  6. Saraswati Nagar
  7. Lalbagh
  8. Narhi
  9. Ganeshganj
  10. Sarojini Nagar

Fees for these centres will vary based on the size and specific amenities of each facility, ensuring a tailored approach to public service pricing.

Officials Present at the Inauguration

The programme witnessed the presence of key municipal officials, underscoring the importance of this development drive. Attendees included Executive Vice Chairperson Charanjeet Gandhi and Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, among others, who collectively underscored the LMC's commitment to advancing Lucknow's urban landscape through both physical and digital enhancements.
