A coordination meeting was held at the Lucknow collectorate on Wednesday to ensure the effective implementation of self-enumeration under the first phase of Census-2027. Chairing the meeting, District Magistrate Vishakh G urged officials to intensify public awareness efforts and motivate citizens to participate in the census through digital platforms.
The DM announced that self-enumeration would commence on May 7, allowing residents to fill in their census details online. He instructed officials to ensure active participation from departmental staff, their families, and the general public.
Key Directives for Implementation
Emphasizing the need for strong inter-departmental coordination, the DM directed various departments to leverage support from public representatives, social organizations, educational institutions, and the media for a wider outreach. He specifically mentioned that self-enumeration help desks should be established in government offices, and special awareness drives should be launched.
To monitor progress, nodal officers have been assigned to oversee the campaign. The DM also stressed that special campaigns will be conducted to involve doctors, lawyers, traders, social workers, and other prominent citizens to encourage public participation.
