“Regular monitoring of development and sanitation projects will continue, and negligence in execution of works will be dealt with seriously,” said Jaluka. Officials also directed agencies and field staff to pay special attention to construction quality and ensure that projects adhere to prescribed standards.

Focus on Waterlogging and Rainwater Harvesting

According to MCG officials, periodic inspections are being carried out to improve sanitation services, maintain the pace of development works, and strengthen urban infrastructure and public amenities across the city. “Officials inspected the waterlogging-prone areas and gave directions to make the rainwater harvesting systems operational. They also inspected the sites where stormwater drains have to be constructed and the sites of road construction in the ward. Since work orders have already been given to the contractors, the officials told them to ensure quality work is done,” said the ward councillor.
