MCG Commissioner Conducts Detailed Inspection of Gurgaon Civic Infrastructure

In a significant move to enhance urban governance, Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya conducted a comprehensive inspection of civic facilities in Sector 4 and Bhim Nagar on Wednesday. The inspection aimed at assessing the operational status of municipal properties and improving field-level monitoring mechanisms.

Focus on Sector 4: Bal Bhawan and Community Centre

The commissioner began his tour at Bal Bhawan and the community centre in Sector 4, where he meticulously reviewed building conditions, cleanliness standards, and maintenance protocols. During the inspection, Dahiya discovered that Bal Bhawan was non-functional and immediately directed officials to initiate operations. He emphasized that the facility should be utilized for children's educational, cultural, and creative activities, ensuring it serves its intended purpose for the community.

At the community centre, officials were instructed to enhance upkeep and provide better facilities for residents. Dahiya also examined sanitation arrangements, road conditions, drainage systems, and the maintenance of public spaces within the sector. He mandated that all identified civic issues be resolved within fixed timelines, stressing the importance of timely execution.

"The objective of the civic body is not just to carry out construction work, but to ensure the real benefits of those facilities to residents," Dahiya stated during the inspection.

Bhim Nagar Visit and Health Services Review

Later, the commissioner visited the mayor's camp office in Bhim Nagar and inspected the Ayushman Arogya Mandir. Here, he reviewed the health services being provided to residents, highlighting the need for accessible and quality healthcare. Dahiya announced that regular field inspections would continue, with accountability fixed in cases of negligence to ensure efficient service delivery.

Technological Integration for Civic Monitoring

In a progressive step, MCG has recently made civic inspections mandatory through an in-house developed mobile application, currently in its preliminary phase. This initiative is designed to streamline monitoring processes and will later be extended to residents, linking with agencies such as the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP).

The inspection underscores MCG's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and public services in Gurgaon, with a focus on operational efficiency and resident welfare.
