Mohali Municipal Corporation Greenlights Major Development Initiatives
The Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of the Mohali Municipal Corporation convened a pivotal meeting on Thursday, led by Mayor Amarjeet Singh Jiti Sidhu, to approve a series of significant development projects aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and public amenities.
Substantial Financial Allocations for Urban Progress
During the session, the committee issued work orders valued at approximately Rs 6.5 crore, while also finalizing and approving development estimates amounting to Rs 5.5 crore. This combined financial commitment of around Rs 12 crore underscores the corporation's dedication to accelerating civic improvements across the city.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Municipal Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh Sandhu, Councillor Jasbir Singh Manku, and other senior members. Mayor Sidhu highlighted that the gathering focused on making crucial decisions related to Mohali's development, with a particular emphasis on addressing pressing urban challenges.
Focus on Sanitation and Infrastructure Upgrades
A major point of discussion centered on cleanliness issues, especially on B-roads where sanitation arrangements have faced operational difficulties. The committee cleared multiple works aimed at resolving these problems, including the repair and construction of footpaths to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.
Enhancement of Sports and Public Facilities
In addition to sanitation efforts, the approved projects encompass the development of sports and public facilities. This includes the establishment of badminton and volleyball courts, as well as the installation of open gym infrastructure, designed to promote community health and recreational activities.
Ward-Specific Implementation Plans
Mayor Sidhu assured that all development works would be carried out in accordance with the specific requirements of residents in each ward. He emphasized that any remaining gaps in infrastructure or services would be addressed promptly in the near future, ensuring comprehensive urban development.
