Moodubidire Cleanliness Drive Collects 700+ Bags of Waste

Mangaluru: A large-scale cleanliness drive titled ‘Swachh Sankalp’ was held in Moodubidire on Sunday, with Alva’s Education Foundation and several social organisations undertaking a coordinated cleanup across a 5.5 km stretch covering the Vidyagiri–Handelu and Vidyagiri–Puttige areas.

Participation and Inauguration

The campaign drew participation from Namma Moodbidire, Netaji Brigade, JCI, Moodbidri Bantara Mahila Sangha, and other community groups, along with students and local residents. Ashok Adyanthaya, president of the Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association, inaugurated the programme and stressed that cleanliness is fundamental to a healthy society. He emphasised that maintaining a clean environment is a shared civic duty and lauded the collective effort of the organisations that came together to execute the drive.

Volunteer Turnout and Waste Collection

More than 600 students of Alva’s Education Foundation, along with members of various organisations and the public, joined the drive. Organisers reported that over 700 bags of waste were collected and disposed of during the initiative.
