Mysuru: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Gupta has issued directives to district officials emphasizing a sharp focus on revenue collection and strengthening the power supply infrastructure in Mysuru. During a review meeting held recently, Gupta instructed that there should be no delays in the implementation of the Ganga Kalyan scheme and that care must be taken to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply across the region.
Key Directives Issued
ACS Gupta outlined several key areas requiring immediate attention. He stressed the need for enhanced revenue collection to meet state targets and directed officials to identify and plug revenue leakages. On the power front, he called for measures to improve the reliability and capacity of the electricity grid to prevent outages, especially during peak summer months.
Ganga Kalyan Scheme Implementation
A significant portion of the discussion centered on the Ganga Kalyan scheme. Gupta underscored that the scheme, aimed at providing sustainable water resources, must be executed without any administrative or financial delays. He instructed the concerned departments to expedite pending works and ensure that all beneficiaries receive the intended benefits on time.
Drinking Water Supply
Gupta also emphasized the critical importance of maintaining a consistent drinking water supply. He directed the water supply department to conduct regular maintenance of pipelines and storage facilities, and to have contingency plans in place for any emergencies. Officials were told to monitor water quality and address any complaints from residents promptly.
Follow-Up Actions
The meeting concluded with a commitment from district officials to implement the directives swiftly. A follow-up review has been scheduled for next month to assess progress.
