The Nagpur district administration launched an intensive six-day outreach campaign to tackle long-standing public grievances. This special drive focused on revenue and rural development matters that had remained unresolved for extended periods.
Swift Resolution of Public Complaints
From January 8 to 13, the administration successfully addressed 172 cases directly at the village level. A total of 1,279 officers and employees from various departments participated in this coordinated effort. The campaign extended across all 11 talukas within Nagpur district.
District Collector Vipin Itankar emphasized the campaign's effectiveness. He stated that coordinated functioning between the revenue department and zilla parishad significantly accelerated decision-making processes. This approach enhanced service delivery in rural areas substantially.
High-Level Directives Spark Initiative
The campaign originated from directives issued by State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge also stressed the urgent need for stronger inter-departmental coordination. Both officials highlighted the importance of resolving grassroots-level issues through collaborative efforts.
Approximately 610 citizens participated in these interactive sessions. They submitted 565 applications covering various administrative and developmental concerns. While 172 cases received immediate resolution, officials forwarded remaining applications for time-bound action.
Coordinated Field-Level Meetings
Joint meetings became a central feature of this campaign. Talathis, gram sevaks, agricultural assistants, and other field-level staff gathered regularly. They reviewed pending cases collectively and issued on-the-spot instructions to concerned officials.
This coordinated approach effectively reduced delays caused by procedural bottlenecks. It ensured citizens no longer needed to visit multiple offices for single issues. The administration aimed to streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles.
Multiple Schemes Gain Momentum
Several government schemes and issues received renewed attention through this initiative. These included housing schemes, shrub forest proposals, and the Chief Minister Baliraja Farm Access Road Scheme. Amendments to the land fragmentation law also progressed significantly.
Other addressed matters involved housing for all initiatives, land ownership concerns, property card distribution, and e-mutation cases. The campaign provided fresh impetus to these important developmental programs.
Direct Engagement with Citizens
Collector Vipin Itankar and Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Vinayak Mahamuni visited talukas daily. They conducted review meetings with block development officers, tehsildars, agriculture officers, and department heads. Following these reviews, they held direct interactions with citizens.
Farmers and government scheme beneficiaries received particular attention during these sessions. Itankar explained that many complaints reaching the district administration revealed coordination gaps among departments. This campaign strengthened coordination mechanisms starting from the village level itself.
"When citizens approach government offices, they deserve proper guidance and responsible service," Itankar asserted. The campaign demonstrated how systematic coordination could transform public service delivery.
Regular Campaigns Planned
Encouraged by the overwhelming response, the district administration decided to conduct similar campaigns quarterly. The next round will occur from March 4 to 11, covering specific talukas on designated dates.
Kampte and Mauda will receive attention on March 4, followed by Katol and Narkhed on March 5. Ramtek and Parseoni will be covered on March 6, with Umred, Bhiwapur and Kuhi scheduled for March 7. Saoner and Kalmeshwar will be addressed on March 9, Hingna and Nagpur Rural on March 10, and Nagpur City on March 11.
This systematic scheduling ensures comprehensive coverage across the entire district. The administration remains committed to resolving public issues through regular, focused outreach efforts.
