Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of these new services. He posted on social media platform X that the trains mark a significant step toward improving passenger comfort and connectivity. He also noted their potential to boost commerce and tourism across connected regions.

Modern Features and Facilities

Amrit Bharat Express trains come equipped with numerous passenger-friendly features. These include foldable snack tables, mobile phone holders, and bottle holders. Radium floor strips enhance safety during night travel.

Passengers enjoy comfortable seating and berths. Modern toilets feature electro-pneumatic flushing systems. The trains incorporate fire-suppression mechanisms for added safety.

Special provisions exist for divyangjan (differently-abled) passengers. Fast charging points keep devices powered throughout the journey. Pantry cars provide food and beverage services.

Advanced Train Technology

The Amrit Bharat Express operates as a push-pull train. This technology enables faster acceleration and deceleration. The trains can reach maximum speeds of 130 kilometers per hour.

These services use non-air-conditioned coaches. They combine general and second-class sleeper coaches. Indian Railways plans further developments in the coming months.

The upcoming Amrit Bharat 3.0 version will include air-conditioned coaches. This expansion continues the railways' commitment to connecting regions separated by geography and opportunity.
