No Fuel Shortage in Ambala, Kurukshetra Amid Global Tensions

Ambala and Kurukshetra Districts Reassure Residents on Fuel and LPG Availability

In response to concerns over potential energy supply disruptions fueled by global events, the district administrations of Ambala and Kurukshetra have issued firm assurances to residents. Officials have confirmed that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, diesel, or CNG in these areas, with adequate stocks maintained to meet all demand. This announcement comes amid heightened tensions internationally, including the Israel-Iran conflict, which has sparked fears of supply chain issues. However, local authorities emphasize that the situation remains stable and under control.

Appeal to Public: Avoid Rumors and Panic Buying

Officials from both districts have made a strong appeal to the public, urging them not to believe in rumors or engage in panic buying. They have directed oil companies and distributors to ensure sufficient supplies, guaranteeing uninterrupted availability of fuel and domestic gas cylinders. This proactive measure aims to prevent unnecessary hoarding and maintain normalcy in the market.

Ambala's Initiatives for Smooth LPG Distribution

In Ambala, District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC) Nishant Rathi has implemented specific guidelines to streamline LPG distribution. He has urged all domestic LPG consumers to book gas cylinders exclusively through mobile phones or online platforms, rather than visiting gas agencies in person. This step is designed to reduce crowding at distribution centers and enhance efficiency.

Rathi confirmed that all gas agencies in Ambala currently hold sufficient stock of domestic LPG cylinders. To prevent stockpiling and ensure fair distribution, oil companies have introduced a new rule: new LPG bookings will only be accepted after 25 days from the last delivery. Additionally, under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, completion of KYC verification is mandatory for receiving LPG delivery. Consumers are advised to visit their gas agencies to complete this process, as bookings from those who fail to do so will not be accepted.

Kurukshetra's Monitoring and Enforcement Measures

Meanwhile, in Kurukshetra, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishram Kumar Meena has affirmed that the district has an adequate supply of petrol, diesel, CNG, and LPG. All oil marketing companies and LPG distributors have been instructed to maintain sufficient stock levels. To ensure smooth supply and strict monitoring, the administration has appointed the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) as the nodal officer. All Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) are directed to closely monitor fuel stock and distribution in their respective sub-divisions.

The DFSC in Kurukshetra has also been tasked with keeping a strict vigil on black marketing, overcharging, and misuse of domestic LPG for commercial purposes. DC Meena warned that any violations will invite strict action under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Officials are required to submit daily reports and maintain close coordination with oil companies to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the district.

Complaint Resolution and Consumer Support

For consumers facing issues related to LPG cylinder delivery after booking, officials have provided toll-free numbers for lodging complaints with oil companies:

  • BPCL: 1800-22-4344
  • IOCL: 1800-2333-555
  • HPCL: 1800-2333-555

The administrations of both districts have reiterated that fuel and LPG supplies remain stable. They urge citizens to cooperate by avoiding panic buying and adhering to the prescribed booking procedures, ensuring a hassle-free experience for all residents.
