Karnataka Minister U T Khader has assured that there is no shortage of funds to address rain-related damages in Dakshina Kannada district. Speaking on July 5, 2026, Khader emphasized that the state government is fully prepared to provide financial support for relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Deputy Commissioner Darshan H V revealed that the district recorded a 32% rainfall deficit during the pre-monsoon period and a 41% deficit from January till date. Despite the shortfall, the district has experienced some rain-related incidents, prompting the government to remain vigilant.

Khader stated that the government has allocated sufficient funds to tackle any emergencies arising from the weather conditions. He urged local authorities to be proactive in assessing damage and disbursing relief to affected residents.
