Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda announced that property documents have been scanned in over 100 taluks under the Bhu Surakhsa Scheme. The minister stated that the government aims to scan 100 per cent of the original documents in survey and sub-registrar offices across the state.
Progress of the Scheme
Speaking in Shivamogga, Byre Gowda highlighted that the scanning drive has covered more than 100 taluks so far. He emphasized that this initiative is crucial for preserving original land records and preventing fraud. The digitized documents will be stored securely, ensuring easy access for citizens and reducing disputes.
Future Targets
The minister added that the remaining taluks will be covered in the next phase. The government is working to complete the scanning of all property documents by the end of the fiscal year. This move is part of a broader effort to modernize land administration and improve transparency.
Byre Gowda also urged citizens to cooperate with officials during the process. He assured that the digitization will not affect existing property rights but will enhance the efficiency of record-keeping.
