Palamu District Sets Up Census Cell for Digital Enumeration
Palamu District Forms Census Cell with Nodal Officer

In a significant move to prepare for the upcoming national census, the Palamu district administration in Jharkhand has officially established a dedicated census cell. This cell will spearhead and coordinate all census-related activities within the district.

Key Appointments for the Census Cell

Under the directives of District Commissioner and Principal Census Officer for Palamu, Sameera S, specific officials have been assigned crucial roles. Additional Collector Kundan Kumar has been formally notified as the Nodal Officer for this newly formed cell. He will bear the overall responsibility for its functioning.

Furthermore, two officials have been appointed as Master Trainers. They are Deputy Election Officer Uday Kumar Rajak and Land Revenue Deputy Collector Vijay Kerketta. These master trainers will be instrumental in training other field staff for the massive exercise.

State-Wide Scale and Digital Mode

Sources indicate that a total of 53 master trainers are required across the state of Jharkhand to ensure a smooth and uniform process. The census operations in Palamu, and nationally, will be conducted entirely in a digital mode, marking a shift towards a more efficient and technologically advanced methodology.

The process will be completed in two distinct phases:

  • House Listing: This first stage involves creating a comprehensive list of all residential and non-residential structures.
  • Enumeration: The second and main stage is the actual population count, where demographic and socio-economic data of individuals is collected.

Expansion and Future Readiness

The current structure of the cell, with one nodal officer and two master trainers, is just the beginning. Officials have confirmed that the cell will expand further as the census schedule progresses and more personnel are required for field training and data collection. This proactive setup by the Palamu administration aims to ensure the district is fully prepared for the mammoth task of counting every individual accurately.
