DC reviews development works, stresses on welfare scheme coverage

Patiala Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal on Friday reviewed the progress of various development works in the district and directed officials to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every eligible person without any laxity. Punjab Development Commission Member Anurag Kundu, Mayor Kundan Gogia and other officials were present on the occasion.

Daily updates on DC Dashboard ordered

Aggarwal directed that the progress of all development works in the district be updated daily on the DC Dashboard. This move aims to enhance transparency and accountability in project execution.

Aam Aadmi Clinics to focus on annual health check-ups

Reviewing the services at Aam Aadmi Clinics, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that all medical officers must ensure that every person visiting the facility undergoes an annual health check-up. He directed that health screening of pregnant women and children be further strengthened. The Civil Surgeon was instructed to focus on achieving zero maternal deaths during childbirth by ensuring that all mandatory tests of pregnant women were conducted in a timely manner.

Aggarwal said that ensuring an annual health check-up for every citizen would help in the early detection and prevention of diseases. He directed the District Education Officer to encourage students and their parents during parent-teacher meetings to undergo annual health check-ups at the nearest Aam Aadmi Clinic.

Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana enrolment reviewed

While reviewing the enrolment efforts under the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, the Deputy Commissioner directed the District Programme Officer to ensure that no eligible woman was deprived of the scheme’s benefits. This scheme provides financial assistance to women.

Municipal Corporation instructed on sewerage and waterlogging

Municipal Corporation officials were instructed to expedite de-silting of sewerage and closely monitor waterlogging-prone areas to ensure prompt drainage of rainwater. He also directed that drinking water samples from all schools in the city be tested regularly to ensure safe water supply.

Rural development works reviewed

Reviewing rural development works, Aggarwal asked officials to ensure the cleaning of village ponds and the supply of safe drinking water in rural areas. These measures aim to improve sanitation and health outcomes in villages.

Labour department welfare schemes for construction workers

Reviewing welfare schemes for building and construction workers under the Labour Department, he instructed officials to ensure registration of all eligible workers so that no labourer in the district was deprived of government welfare schemes. This includes benefits such as insurance, pension, and financial assistance.
