PRAGATI Drives Time-Bound Delivery of Schemes: CM Sai

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh has emphasized that the PRAGATI digital platform is instrumental in driving time-bound delivery of government schemes and projects. Speaking at the New Circuit House in Raipur, Sai highlighted how this initiative has transformed governance outcomes not only in Chhattisgarh but across India.

PRAGATI: A Catalyst for Governance Excellence

The PRAGATI platform, which stands for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, was designed to overcome procedural delays and coordination gaps that previously hindered project execution. Sai noted that it embodies the principle of minimum government, maximum governance, reflecting a new work culture in New India.

Nationwide Impact and Project Acceleration

Under PRAGATI, more than 50 high-level review meetings have been conducted by the Prime Minister with chief secretaries and senior officials. This has led to the fast-tracking of over 3,300 projects nationwide, with an investment value nearing Rs 85 lakh crore. Key schemes that have seen improved implementation include:

  • One Nation One Ration Card
  • Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana
  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
  • PM SVANidhi
  • Swachh Bharat Mission

Additionally, grievance redressal has been strengthened across 36 sectors such as banking, insurance, RERA, and various welfare schemes.

Chhattisgarh's Success with PRAGATI

In Chhattisgarh, the platform is monitoring 99 national infrastructure projects worth Rs 6.11 lakh crore. Of these, 50 projects have been completed, while the remainder are in various stages of execution. Out of 200 state-related issues flagged on the portal, 183 have been resolved, achieving a success rate of over 91%.

Long-pending issues in sectors like power, roads, railways, coal, and steel have been addressed, including projects such as:

  1. Modernisation of the Bhilai Steel Plant
  2. Lara Super Thermal Power Project
  3. Four-laning of the Raipur–Kodebod road

Strengthening Centre-State Coordination

Sai pointed out that India's rise as the world's fourth-largest economy is supported by enhanced Centre-state cooperation, with PRAGATI serving as a vital bridge for monitoring and implementation. He stated that the platform aligns intent with execution, ensuring transparent and time-bound development.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that governance innovations in Chhattisgarh have received international recognition, including appreciation from Oxford University. PRAGATI demonstrates that the vision of a developed India is backed by structured roadmaps and effective governance tools, Sai concluded.
