Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday issued strict directives to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply across Rajasthan during the peak summer season. He warned that district collectors and departmental officers would be held accountable if citizens face any inconvenience.
Review Meeting at CMO
Chairing a review meeting at the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Sharma stated that any complaints related to water or power supply would lead to responsibility being fixed on the concerned district collector and department officials. He emphasized that drinking water and electricity arrangements must be treated as the highest priority during the summer months.
Weekly Reviews and Priority Resolution
The Chief Minister instructed all district collectors to hold weekly review meetings on water and electricity supply and ensure continuous monitoring of the situation. He directed departmental officers to resolve complaints on a priority basis. "Providing relief to common people during summer is the state government's priority, and negligence of any kind in this regard will not be acceptable," Sharma said during the meeting.
Monitoring of Essential Facilities
Sharma further ordered regular monitoring of cleanliness, drinking water availability, and other essential facilities in hospitals across the state.
Fuel Conservation Measures
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for fuel conservation, the Chief Minister asked officers to minimize the use of official vehicles and promote carpooling wherever possible. He said district-level meetings should preferably be conducted through video conferencing to reduce fuel consumption.
Jal Jeevan Mission Progress
The CM also reviewed progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission and instructed officials to complete ongoing works within fixed timelines through proper target-setting. He asked departments to prepare a detailed report on the status of the projects.
