Rs 21.63 Crore Bridge Over Nakki Rivulet Approved

Bridge Sanctioned Under NABARD Funding

A box girder bridge costing Rs 21.63 crore will be constructed over the Nakki rivulet in the Jaswan-Pragpur Assembly constituency of Kangra district. The project, sanctioned under the NABARD funding scheme, aims to provide all-weather road connectivity to residents of Kaloha, Pragpur, Dhaliara, Dada-Siba, and Sansarpur-Terrace areas. The bridge addresses a long-standing demand, as the Nakki rivulet frequently floods during monsoons, disrupting travel.

210-Metre Bridge on Key Road

The 210-metre-long bridge will be built on the Kaloha-Pragpur-Sansarpur-Terrace Road. According to Jaswan-Pragpur MLA Bikram Thakur, the project was listed under the MLA priority scheme of the state government and received financial approval from NABARD. Thakur stated, "This bridge will provide road connectivity that remains disrupted due to flash floods in the Nakki rivulet. It will facilitate hassle-free travel for commuters, students, traders, and patients."

Economic and Development Benefits

The MLA emphasized that the bridge will ensure uninterrupted round-the-year traffic movement, boosting economic activities and regional development. He expressed gratitude to the Central Government for the financial approval. The project is expected to significantly improve access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities for the local population.
