The Fatehgarh Sahib district police have launched the Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme at Government Senior Secondary School, Kotla Bajwara, with the aim of fostering social values, discipline, and responsible citizenship among schoolchildren. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shubham Aggarwal inaugurated the initiative, emphasizing that the programme is designed to shape students into responsible citizens by promoting civic sense and community engagement from an early age.
SSP Urges Tree Planting on Birthdays
During the launch event, SSP Aggarwal also planted saplings on the school campus and stressed the importance of environmental protection. He urged every student to plant and nurture at least one tree on his or her birthday. Additionally, he advised students to pursue skill-based and professional courses alongside formal education to build successful careers.
DSP Highlights Role of Teachers
DSP (Headquarters) Hartej Kaushik highlighted the pivotal role of teachers in shaping society, describing them as guides worthy of the highest respect. As part of the programme, police officials planted around 40 saplings, honored meritorious students with certificates, and inspected the school’s mid-day meal, appreciating its quality.
Principal Gurdeep Kaur thanked the police for launching the initiative at the school. The SPC programme is expected to be expanded to other schools in the district, aiming to instill a sense of discipline and social responsibility in the younger generation.
