CM Yogi Adityanath to Launch Multi-Level Parking Project in Gorakhpur

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate a state-of-the-art multi-level parking facility in the bustling Ghantaghar area of Gorakhpur this Sunday. This project, developed under the direct instructions of the Chief Minister, marks the second such facility in the city, designed to address chronic traffic and parking issues.

Project Details and Infrastructure

The municipal corporation has constructed this parking-cum-commercial complex at Shaheed Bandhu Singh Park, covering an area of approximately 1,540 square meters. With an investment of Rs 27.26 crore, the facility boasts a modern design and comprehensive amenities.

  • The basement level can accommodate 26 cars.
  • Another dedicated level provides space for 24 four-wheelers.
  • The terrace is equipped to hold around 200 two-wheelers.

Commercial and Additional Features:

  • The complex includes 21 shops on the ground floor and 22 on the first floor, offering opportunities for 43 shopkeepers.
  • Separate toilet facilities have been installed for public convenience.
  • A Sheetla Mata temple is located within the premises, preserving local cultural heritage.
  • Accessibility is enhanced with staircases on both sides and two lifts.

Expected Impact on Local Congestion

Officials anticipate that this project will significantly alleviate congestion in Ghantaghar and nearby markets such as Maya Bazaar and Hindi Bazaar. These areas experience heavy footfall not only from Gorakhpur but also from adjacent districts, as well as visitors from Bihar and Nepal. By providing organized parking, the facility aims to streamline traffic flow and improve the overall shopping experience.

Additional Initiatives During the Visit

During his visit, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also inaugurate beautification works in the Ghantaghar area. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stone for a new commercial complex at Pandeyhata under the heritage corridor. This project, estimated to cost Rs 36.47 crore, plans to include 65 shops, further boosting economic activity and urban development in the region.

This initiative reflects the government's ongoing efforts to enhance urban infrastructure and support local commerce in Uttar Pradesh.
