Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, water, and healthcare services in the state as a heatwave alert has been issued. The state government has instructed all districts to complete relief and preparedness measures in advance to mitigate the impact of the extreme weather conditions.
Preparedness Measures Ordered
In an official statement, the government emphasized the need for proactive action. All district magistrates have been asked to ensure that power cuts do not occur during peak hours and that water supply remains consistent. Hospitals have been put on high alert to handle any heat-related emergencies.
Focus on Vulnerable Areas
The directive specifically highlights rural and semi-urban areas where access to basic amenities may be limited. Officials have been tasked with setting up cooling centers and ensuring the availability of ORS packets and drinking water at public places.
The heatwave alert comes as temperatures in several parts of Uttar Pradesh have crossed 45 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department has predicted severe heatwave conditions in the coming days.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed the Power Department to minimize outages and ensure round-the-clock electricity for essential services like hospitals and water pumping stations. The government has urged citizens to stay indoors during peak hours and take necessary precautions.
