The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood in Mysuru district has identified and removed 581 ineligible beneficiaries under the Yuva Nidhi scheme. Officials confirmed that these beneficiaries were weeded out following periodic monthly record verifications conducted after the scheme's launch.

Details of Removed Beneficiaries

Mysuru district currently has 14,376 beneficiaries enrolled under Yuva Nidhi. Among those removed, 427 were found to be employed while continuing to receive the unemployment allowance. Additionally, 153 beneficiaries were pursuing higher education, and one individual was self-employed but still availing the benefit, according to sources.

Verification Process

District Employment Exchange Office Assistant Director Rani informed TOI that the department has intensified monthly verification following directives from senior officers. Ineligible beneficiaries, including those who secured jobs, became self-employed, or completed the benefit period, are being systematically removed. She emphasized that beneficiaries must submit a self-declaration every month to continue receiving assistance.

District Guarantee Implementation Committee Vice-President Hunsur Basavanna stated that periodic verification is carried out to ensure only eligible beneficiaries receive the scheme's benefits. This process aims to maintain the integrity of the Yuva Nidhi program and prevent misuse of funds.

The department continues to monitor beneficiaries regularly, and further removals are expected as verifications proceed. Eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to comply with monthly self-declaration requirements to avoid discontinuation of benefits.
