Buxar Initiates Subsidized Seed Distribution for Summer Crop Season

Distribution of seeds for the 'garma' (summer) crop season has commenced in block agriculture offices throughout Buxar district. District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Dharmendra Kumar announced on Tuesday that seeds are being provided at subsidized rates to farmers who submitted online applications.

Distribution Targets and Farmer Applications

The district has been allocated a target to distribute 140 quintals of moong (green gram), 60 quintals of hybrid maize, and 50 quintals of urad (black gram) seeds for this season. A total of 6,894 farmers from 11 blocks have applied online for these summer crop seeds.

Guidance for Farmers and Soil Management

DAO Dharmendra Kumar advised all applicants to contact their respective block agriculture offices to collect the seeds. He also encouraged farmers to make effective use of crop residues after harvesting. He explained that once the crops mature and pods are harvested, the remaining plant material should be ploughed back into the fields as green manure.
