DDA Extends Payment Deadline for Towering Heights Flats Till June 30
DDA Extends Payment Deadline for Towering Heights Flats

The Delhi Development Authority has extended the deadline for payment of flats allotted at Towering Heights under both the 2025 e-auction and 2026 first-come-first-served housing schemes until June 30. The decision, approved by the DDA vice-chairman, was taken in view of the time likely needed for securing statutory approvals by the authority, which could take 30 to 45 days from the physical completion of the project.

Extension Details and Interest Waiver

According to officials, all cases where payments were due on or before March 31, and subsequently extended until April 30, will now receive a further extension without any interest levy. Thereafter, allottees will be allowed an additional grace period of 30 days, up to July 30, 2026, for making the payment, but with an interest rate of 10% on the demand amount. The authority has clarified that no extension will be granted beyond July 30.

Reasons Behind the Extension

The DDA stated that representations from allottees seeking additional time were also received. The project completion is expected to miss its scheduled deadline of July 2026, and these factors were considered while granting the extension. All other terms and conditions of the housing schemes and demand-cum-allotment letters remain unchanged.

About the Towering Heights Project

Launched on October 31, 2025, Towering Heights is Delhi's first residential development under the transit-oriented development policy. The project initially offered 1,026 premium 2BHK apartments through e-auction, with base reserve prices ranging from Rs 1.8 crore to Rs 3.1 crore. However, only around 178 units were auctioned due to lukewarm response.

Second Phase and Bulk Allotments

Later, the authority launched a second phase, offering 741 flats on a first-come-first-served basis. Additionally, 393 flats were earmarked for bulk allotment to government institutions in March. To boost sales, DDA excluded the cost of parking from the disposal price, reducing the overall cost of the flats.

East Delhi Hub Development

Spread across 30 hectares, East Delhi Hub is being developed as a mixed-use urban centre integrating residential, commercial and civic spaces within a walkable urban environment. The 48-storey residential tower will be the tallest building in the city at 155 metres. Construction is also underway for 500 additional flats and commercial complexes at the site.
