FASTag Annual Pass Fee Revised to INR 3,075 for 2026-27

NHAI Announces Revised FASTag Annual Pass Fee for 2026-27 Financial Year

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially declared a revision in the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass, set to take effect in the upcoming financial year 2026–27. According to a recent order issued by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, the annual pass will now be priced at INR 3,075, marking an increase from the current rate of INR 3,000. This adjustment is scheduled to be implemented starting April 1, 2026.

Official Announcement and Regulatory Framework

In a post on the social media platform X, the official account of NHAI, @NHAI_Official, shared the details of this revision. The announcement stated, "Effective 1st April 2026, the applicable fee for the #FASTagAnnualPass will be revised from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for FY 2026–27 in accordance with the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008." This change is grounded in the provisions of the 2008 rules, which govern the determination and collection of toll fees across national highways throughout the country.

Benefits and Usage of the FASTag Annual Pass

The FASTag Annual Pass, which was initially launched on August 15, 2025, is designed to offer a seamless and cost-effective travel solution for private vehicle owners. It provides convenient access for eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag across approximately 1,150 fee plazas located on National Highways and Expressways. The pass operates on a one-time payment basis, valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever occurs first.

Since its introduction, the response to this scheme has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 56 lakh users subscribing to the FASTag Annual Pass. This growing adoption underscores its appeal as a hassle-free option for regular highway travelers, contributing to more efficient tolling processes and supporting the government's efforts to enhance the national highway network.

Eligibility and Activation Process

The revised toll charge will apply to eligible non-commercial vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans that possess a functional FASTag. To activate the annual pass, vehicle owners can make the payment through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application or via the official NHAI website. Once the payment is processed, the pass is typically activated on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle within two hours.

Key features of the scheme include:

  • One-time payment: Users pay the fee once for activation, valid for one year or 200 toll transactions.
  • Universal applicability: The benefit extends to all fee plazas on national highways, regardless of individual toll charges.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Designed to save time and money for frequent travelers on highways.

Officials emphasize that the FASTag Annual Pass continues to play a crucial role in streamlining toll collection and improving travel experiences on India's expanding highway infrastructure.
