Haryana Government Announces Significant Hike in Social Security Pensions

The Haryana government has taken a major step to bolster its social security framework by increasing the monthly pension and financial assistance under various welfare schemes. The monthly amount has been raised from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,200, marking a substantial enhancement for beneficiaries across the state.

Effective Dates and Implementation Details

According to a notification issued by the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Antyodaya (SEWA), the revised rates will come into effect from November 1, 2025. The enhanced amounts are scheduled to be disbursed starting from February 2026. This timeline ensures a smooth transition and adequate preparation for the distribution process.

  • Ladli Social Security Pension Scheme
  • Pension to Persons with Disabilities
  • Pension to Dwarfs
  • Financial Assistance to Destitute Women and Widows
  • Financial Assistance to Widower and Unmarried Persons Scheme 2023
  • Financial Assistance to Persons suffering from rare diseases
  • Financial Assistance for Stage-III and IV Cancer Patients
  • Pension to Eunuchs

Additional Welfare Scheme Enhancements

In addition to the primary pension schemes, the government has also boosted assistance under other welfare initiatives:

  1. Financial Assistance to Non-School Going Differently Abled Children increased from Rs 2,400 to Rs 2,600 per month.
  2. Assistance to Destitute Children raised from Rs 2,100 to Rs 2,300 per month for one child, and from Rs 4,200 to Rs 4,600 per month for two children.
  3. Financial assistance to Kashmiri migrant families settled in Haryana enhanced from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,700 per month per person, with the maximum family limit increased from Rs 7,500 to Rs 8,500.

Enhanced Support for Acid Attack Victims

The government has also increased financial assistance for acid attack victims across all disability categories, providing crucial support for their recovery and rehabilitation:

  • For the 40%-50% degree of disability category, assistance increased from Rs 7,500 to Rs 8,000 per month.
  • For the 50% to 60% category, assistance raised from Rs 10,500 to Rs 11,200 per month.
  • For the 60% and above category, financial assistance enhanced from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,400 per month.
