Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Inaugurates Sansad Jan Udyam Khel Mahotsav in Gaya

Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Jitan Ram Manjhi, officially inaugurated the Sansad Jan Udyam Khel Mahotsav at Gandhi Maidan in Gaya on Monday. This multi-dimensional initiative is designed to foster sports, youth engagement, and entrepreneurship within the Gaya parliamentary constituency, creating a vibrant platform for holistic development.

Promoting Sports and Entrepreneurship Simultaneously

The event serves a dual purpose: encouraging sporting talent while bolstering entrepreneurship and the growth of MSMEs. A highlight of the festival is the Vishwakarma Haat, which showcases traditional skills and crafts. This segment provides artisans and micro-entrepreneurs with a valuable opportunity to display and market their products, bridging the gap between local talent and broader markets.

Extensive Sports and Cultural Programmes

As many as 12 sports disciplines are included in the festival, ensuring wide participation and interest. The lineup features:

Minister Manjhi's Vision for Grassroots Development

Addressing the gathering, Minister Manjhi emphasized that the event represents an innovative effort to identify and nurture sporting talent at the grassroots level. He stated that the initiative aims to connect young people from villages and semi-urban areas with sports, helping to refine their abilities and providing them with opportunities to compete at national and international levels.

Manjhi added that the programme aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of creating inspirational platforms that promote discipline, culture, and self-reliance among youth. He highlighted that participation in sports helps keep young people away from negative influences and motivates them to contribute positively to nation-building.

Broader Political Context

During his address, Manjhi also touched upon other topics, including prohibition and the women's reservation bill. He remarked that government decisions should not cause public inconvenience or economic losses to the state. Furthermore, he suggested that dissatisfaction among women over the reservation issue could politically benefit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.

The Sansad Jan Udyam Khel Mahotsav stands as a significant step toward integrating sports and economic development, reflecting a strategic approach to youth empowerment in the Gaya region.
