MP Chief Minister's House Rent Scheme: Financial Aid for Students
MP CM House Rent Scheme: Aid for Students

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has introduced the Chief Minister's House Rent Scheme to support students from remote and disadvantaged communities who face the burden of paying rent while pursuing higher education in cities. This initiative provides monthly financial assistance to eligible students staying away from their homes for studies.

What is the Chief Minister's House Rent Scheme?

The Chief Minister's House Rent Scheme is a student support initiative launched by the Department of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Under the scheme, eligible students receive a monthly rental allowance to help cover accommodation expenses while pursuing post-matric education. The assistance is primarily intended for students who need to stay in rented accommodation due to their studies and are not residing in government hostels.

Who is eligible for the scheme?

The scheme is available for:

Applicants must also meet the eligibility requirements under the scheme guidelines, including conditions linked with the Post-Matric Scholarship framework. Students may not be eligible for benefits if they fail in an academic year, as per scheme rules. Any rent amount exceeding the fixed assistance limit has to be managed by the student.

How much financial assistance is provided?

The monthly rental assistance depends on the location where the student is studying:

  • Rs 2,000 per month for students staying in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain
  • Rs 1,250 per month for students staying at district headquarters
  • Rs 1,000 per month for students staying in tehsil, development block headquarters and other cities

The scheme covers students staying in major cities of Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Ujjain.
