Odisha Subhadra Shakti Samavesh for Women Empowerment

The Mission Shakti department of Odisha is set to organize a statewide Subhadra Shakti Samavesh across all gram panchayats from June 21 to 30. The event aims to promote women’s empowerment and enhance livelihood opportunities for women in the state.

Deputy CM Reviews Preparations

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who also holds the Mission Shakti portfolio, reviewed the preparations for the event during a virtual meeting with district-level officials on Tuesday. She emphasized the importance of reaching every gram panchayat to ensure maximum participation.

Key Objectives of the Samavesh

The initiative focuses on creating awareness among women, particularly members of self-help groups, about various government welfare schemes. Key areas include financial inclusion, skill development, and market linkages. The event will also encourage women entrepreneurs to become 'Lakhpati Didis' and 'Mahalakhpati Didis', aiming to boost their economic independence.
