Raipur West to Get Rs 9 Crore 'Amrit Udyan' in Jarway

Residents of Raipur West Assembly constituency have exciting news. They will soon receive a major civic and environmental asset. The government plans to develop a state-of-the-art 'Amrit Udyan' at Jarway. This project carries an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore.

Project Details and Funding

Officials will take up the project under the Amrit Mission Phase-II. They identified a 10-acre vacant government land for this purpose. The Rs 9 crore allocation for the garden already received sanction under Amrit Mission Phase-II. However, the project awaited suitable land identification. Now, with the selection of the 10-acre plot at Jarway, the procedural hurdle is cleared. This paves the way for early commencement of work.

Addressing a Long-Felt Need

Raipur (West) MLA Rajesh Munat highlighted the absence of a large, well-developed public garden. Residents, especially senior citizens and children, felt this gap for a long time. Munat made these remarks during his site inspection on Saturday.

"This Amrit Udyan will bridge that gap," Munat said. "It will not only enhance environmental sustainability but also provide a safe and inclusive recreational space for families."

Features of the Modern Park

Munat stated the garden would become a "model urban park" with modern amenities. These amenities include:

  • Landscaped green zones
  • Walking and jogging tracks
  • An open gym
  • Dedicated play areas for children

The proposed garden aims to improve urban livability. It also seeks to strengthen green cover in the fast-growing Heerapur–Jarway–Atari belt.

MLA's Vision and Public Demand

"My objective is to ensure that every ward of Raipur West is self-reliant and equipped with modern civic facilities," Munat explained. "The people of the Heerapur–Jarway area had been demanding a quality garden for years. With funding approved and land finalised, this long-pending demand will now be fulfilled."

Next Steps and Implementation

Raipur Municipal Corporation commissioner Vishwadeep provided assurance about the project's progress. He said a detailed project report (DPR) would be prepared shortly. Following this preparation, construction work would initiate without delay.

This development promises to transform the local landscape. It offers residents a much-needed green space for recreation and community activities.
