Rajasthan Chief Minister Launches 207 New Buses to Boost Rural Connectivity
In a significant move to enhance transportation infrastructure across the state, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma officially flagged off 207 new buses of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) on Thursday. The launch ceremony was held on the auspicious occasion of Rajasthan Day, marking a pivotal step towards improving public transit in remote and rural regions.
Modern Fleet with Enhanced Safety Features
The newly introduced fleet comprises a diverse mix of buses designed to cater to various passenger needs. It includes 100 blue line buses, 28 air-conditioned coaches, and 79-star line vehicles. Officials emphasized that all these buses have been manufactured adhering to the latest safety standards, ensuring a secure and reliable travel experience for commuters.
During the event, Chief Minister Sharma articulated the government's unwavering commitment to providing safe, accessible, and modern transportation facilities to the public. "The induction of these new buses will provide passengers with better and more comfortable travel experiences, while simultaneously strengthening the roadways network," stated Sharma. He highlighted that this initiative is part of continuous efforts to upgrade the state's public transport system.
Empowering Women as Road Safety Ambassadors
In a parallel initiative focused on road safety, the Chief Minister distributed helmets to 700 women, officially designating them as 'Road Safety Ambassadors.' Sharma personally interacted with these women, encouraging them to strictly adhere to traffic rules and promote safe driving practices within their communities. This move aims to foster a culture of road safety and awareness across Rajasthan.
Government's Vision for Rural Mobility
Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, who also serves as the Transport Minister, elaborated on the government's vision behind this expansion. "Our government firmly believes it is imperative to provide improved transportation facilities to people residing in the remote and rural areas of the state," said Bairwa. He explained that the operation of these new buses will facilitate easier commuting in regions where public transportation options have historically been limited, thereby bridging connectivity gaps and supporting economic and social development.
The launch of these 207 buses is expected to significantly enhance connectivity in rural Rajasthan, offering residents more reliable and comfortable travel options.
