Rajasthan Assures Ample LPG Supply, Activates Vigilance Amid Global Tensions
Rajasthan Ensures LPG Stock, Urges No Panic Over Supply

Rajasthan Government Reassures Citizens on LPG Availability

In response to growing concerns over potential supply disruptions triggered by recent international conflicts, the Rajasthan government has issued a firm statement affirming that domestic LPG stocks within the state remain fully adequate. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara addressed the public on Thursday, urging consumers to avoid panic-buying and maintain normal purchasing patterns.

Vigilance Teams Activated Statewide

To ensure uninterrupted distribution, the government has mobilized vigilance teams across all districts of Rajasthan. These teams are specifically tasked with preventing illegal activities such as hoarding, unauthorized storage, and diversion of domestic gas cylinders. District collectors, superintendents of police, and departmental officials are conducting regular inspections to monitor supply chains and enforce compliance.

According to Minister Godara, daily reports from district-level committees monitoring LPG distribution indicate that no instances of black marketing or illegal hoarding have been recorded so far. This proactive monitoring aims to maintain transparency and efficiency in the supply system.

Streamlined Delivery and Booking Procedures

The minister detailed that domestic LPG cylinders are currently being delivered within two to three days of booking. All deliveries are facilitated through an OTP-based verification system, designed to ensure that cylinders reach genuine consumers and minimize fraud.

Godara emphasized specific guidelines for consumers:

  • Book refills only after the stipulated waiting period: 25 days after the previous delivery in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas.
  • Utilize authorized booking channels, including mobile apps, official websites, WhatsApp services, or IVRS systems, rather than visiting gas agencies in person.
  • Note that point delivery at gas agencies has been temporarily suspended under current regulatory measures.

Regulatory Adjustments for Commercial LPG

In line with the LPG Control Order issued on March 9, the supply of commercial gas cylinders has been halted across Rajasthan. However, on the directives of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, commercial LPG will continue to be supplied exclusively to educational and medical institutions to support essential services.

Complaint Mechanism for Consumers

Consumers experiencing supply issues or observing any illegal activities related to LPG distribution are encouraged to report them promptly. Complaints can be lodged through dedicated helpline numbers: 112, 14435, and 181. This initiative aims to empower citizens and enhance accountability within the distribution network.

The Rajasthan government's comprehensive approach—combining stock assurance, vigilant monitoring, and clear consumer guidelines—seeks to stabilize LPG supply amidst global uncertainties and maintain public confidence.
