Rajasthan sets May 15 deadline for master plans

The Rajasthan state government on Sunday directed officials to upload the final master plans under the Mukhyamantri Viksit Gram/Shahari Ward Abhiyan by May 15. The directive also called for faster execution aligned with local needs at the village and urban ward levels.

Directives Issued by State Government

In the directives issued by Ravi Jain, secretary of the local self-government department, and Joga Ram, secretary of the Panchayati Raj department, the officials underscored the government's emphasis on strict timelines and accountability. Jain stressed the need to maintain data quality while ensuring the timely completion of compilation, entry, and GIS mapping.

He called for effective use of SSO ID mapping and reporting systems, regular data audits at the block and urban body levels, and prompt completion of gram sabhas and focus group discussions. Coordination with the statistics department and the use of existing e-Gram data were also emphasized.

Streamlining Execution

To streamline execution, the government directed the appointment of in-charge officers for clusters of four to five gram panchayats or urban wards, along with the setting up of field-level help desks for technical support.

Campaign Objectives

Launched on March 19, the campaign aims to turn local development planning into a mass movement by preparing dynamic, need-based master plans for every gram panchayat and urban ward in the state. The initiative focuses on grassroots participation and data-driven planning to ensure sustainable development.

Officials have been instructed to prioritize timely completion of all related activities, including data collection, verification, and mapping. Regular reviews and audits will be conducted to monitor progress and ensure adherence to the timeline.
