Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Tuesday urged all eligible women in Kapurthala district to visit their nearest Suvidha/Seva Kendra or Anganwadi Centre for smooth registration under the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana. As of July 6, a total of 1,41,752 women have been registered under the scheme in the district.
Financial Assistance Disbursed
The district administration has facilitated registration and form-uploading through Suvidha/Seva Kendras and Anganwadi Centres to simplify the process. Bansal confirmed that Rs 17.34 crore has been directly transferred into the bank accounts of 49,039 eligible beneficiaries via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The remaining eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance after verification and processing of their applications.
Scheme Details
The Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, a Punjab Government initiative, provides monthly financial aid: Rs 1,000 for General Category women and Rs 1,500 for Scheduled Caste Category women, credited directly to their bank accounts. Women aged 18 years or above who are residents of Punjab are eligible to apply.
Registration Process
Eligible women are advised to visit their nearest Anganwadi Centre, Mahila Satkar Sakhi, or Suvidha/Seva Kendra with their Aadhaar Card, Voter ID or residence proof, bank account details, and other required documents. The DC reiterated the administration's commitment to ensuring no eligible beneficiary is left out, directing CDPOs, supervisors, Anganwadi workers, and Mahila Satkar Sakhis to complete the registration process in a speedy, transparent, and beneficiary-friendly manner.
