Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Inaugurates Pilot Samriddhi Kendra in Guna District

Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, officially inaugurated a pilot Samriddhi Kendra (Prosperity Centre) in Umri-Ari village, located within the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. This significant event marks the launch of a comprehensive digital rural service hub, meticulously designed to consolidate multiple essential services under a single, accessible roof for villagers.

Bridging the Rural-Urban Digital Divide

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister Scindia emphasized that the core concept of the Samriddhi Kendra is to effectively bridge the persistent rural-urban digital divide. The initiative aims to ensure that villagers gain easy and convenient access to critical government and financial services through advanced technological integration. This pilot project is currently being implemented in only three strategic locations across the entire country, with the Guna centre being the sole establishment in Madhya Pradesh. The other two pilot centres are situated in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

Comprehensive Service Integration for Rural Empowerment

The Samriddhi Kendra is engineered to function as a single-point access hub, delivering a wide array of services directly to rural residents. Officials detailed that the facility will integrate:

  • Agricultural support, advisories, and monitoring
  • E-governance and government service portals
  • Digital learning, education, and skill development programs

This integrated approach is expected to directly benefit residents of Umri-Ari and surrounding villages within an approximate five-kilometre radius. By providing these services locally, the centre will significantly reduce the necessity for villagers to undertake arduous travel to distant towns for routine administrative and financial tasks.

Tour of Digital Infrastructure and Future Expansion Plans

During the event, Minister Scindia conducted an extensive tour of various exhibition stalls and demonstration units that showcased the diverse range of services to be delivered. He personally inspected key infrastructure components, including:

  1. The computer laboratory and network room
  2. Smart classroom facilities designed for digital education
  3. Conference and community engagement spaces

The minister also observed live demonstrations of cutting-edge Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications, which are being utilized for enhanced digital education and effective information dissemination. Furthermore, officials briefed Scindia on the innovative use of drone technology for agricultural monitoring and various other rural applications, highlighting the centre's operational mechanism.

Equipped with high-speed internet connectivity and robust monitoring systems, the Samriddhi Kendra is poised to extend its digital services efficiently to the surrounding villages. Authorities confirmed that the centre is designed to function as a representative rural digital hub, capable of catering to communities with diverse social and demographic backgrounds.

The project is anticipated to serve as a pioneering model for digitally empowered rural governance across India. Officials indicated that, following a thorough evaluation of the performance and impact of these three pilot centres, the successful Samriddhi Kendra concept could be strategically expanded to numerous other parts of the country, fostering widespread digital inclusion and rural prosperity.
