Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Chairs Nabard RIDF High-Power Committee Meeting for 2025-26

In Lucknow, Chief Secretary SP Goyal presided over a crucial meeting of the high-power committee on Monday, focusing on projects slated for the 2025-26 period under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development's (Nabard) Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). The session aimed to streamline and accelerate rural infrastructure initiatives across the state.

Veterinary Hospital Proposal and Project Reviews Take Center Stage

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed a significant proposal from the animal husbandry department for establishing a veterinary hospital project. Emphasizing urgency, SP Goyal instructed that the proposal be submitted to Nabard for approval at the earliest possible opportunity to ensure timely implementation.

Additionally, the committee delved into the status of Projects Yet to be Grounded (PYG) and Slow Moving Projects (SMP). The CS directed all executing departments to furnish detailed information regarding these projects to Nabard, highlighting the need for transparency and efficiency in project execution.

Nabard Reports Strong Financial Performance in Current Fiscal Year

Pankaj Kumar, Chief General Manager of Nabard, provided a comprehensive update during the meeting. He reported that in the current financial year, new projects from various departments, totaling an impressive Rs 2,419 crore, have been sanctioned under RIDF-XXXI.

Furthermore, Kumar disclosed that against a disbursement target of Rs 2,700 crore, Nabard has successfully disbursed Rs 2,713 crore, exceeding the goal and demonstrating robust financial management and commitment to rural development.

This meeting underscores the Uttar Pradesh government's proactive approach to leveraging Nabard funds for enhancing rural infrastructure, with a clear focus on expediting project approvals and addressing delays to benefit communities across the state.
